Are you considering a band at your wedding? It all sounds so simple until you realise just how varied they can be.

Why have a band?
​
Depending on the length of your reception, you may not want a DJ for the whole of it. A live band adds a certain level of interaction and engagement that draws out the best in people. Throwing a band into the mix breaks up the evening with a little more action.
A string quartet may be the perfect choice for an elegant sit-down or more intimate dinner party set-up. A cover band is a better option if you want your wedding guests to get up and sing along while they dance.
DJs are a better option if you consider variety the spice of reception life. They can simply provide a much wider breadth of music genre options and can essentially play any song you request. Bands typically come prepared with a previously agreed upon set list—requests aren’t always on the table.
While a wedding DJ will play pre-recorded songs (it’s great—your guests will know them and the party won’t stop until the music does), live wedding bands can improvise a bit. A band can work in standout instrument solos, change lyrics, and add any fun twists they see fit, which can be fun for you and your guests, too.

Ceremony
The tricky bit: French bureaucracy.
Sadly, Non-French residents wishing to get married in France can only have a religious or spiritual ceremony in France after having the civil ceremony in their home country. Getting legally married in France is only possible through a civil ceremony which takes place at the council offices (mairie).

The paperwork to arrange a civil wedding while out of the country is complex. Non-residents without a parent living in France must acquire a special dispensation before getting married in the country. In practice, authorities rarely allow it. Many couples prefer therefore to have a civil wedding in their country of origin or residence before.
​
But we think without the fanfare and the exchange of rings and family & friends - that's the real moment the mariage takes place. When all come together to witness this amazing point in your life.

Always remember the management of logistics is a precise and labor intensive activity - JOIS DE VIVRE is happy to coordinate the transport of your guests.

Arrivals at the airport, train stations, hotels, trips to and from the various places of the wedding can be managed by us.
This will save you from the stress of keeping an eye on your guests' whereabouts, possible late comers and missed plane connections.
If you prefer all your guests based in a city, Marseille, Cannes, Nice,... but you have a location outside - then a shuttle service with limousines or a larger bus can be arranged for a seemingless flow of transportation.

The advantage of the limousine service is:
At the end of the night of the wedding day you do not have to let go of a large majority of guest in one go. This will maybe disrupt the atmosphere for all remaining guests. But rather a fleet of several limousines come and go all night until the last guest has left.
